Position Description

Job Overview:

The Surgical Technician at Blue Mountain Hospital is an essential member of the surgical team, responsible for assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures and ensuring the operating room remains sterile and well-prepared. This role requires a high level of focus, teamwork, and dedication to patient safety.

*The successful candidate will be required to take a call, requiring a 5-20 minute response time.

Key Responsibilities:

Surgical Preparation: Organize and prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for each procedure.

Intraoperative Support: Anticipate the needs of surgeons and nurses, providing instruments and supplies promptly during surgeries.

Sterilization: Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.

Patient Assistance: Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping of the surgical area.

Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical team to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality patient care.

Post-Surgical Care: Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

Dedication to patient confidentiality and ethical standards in healthcare.
