Community Health Center (CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations. CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care.

Are you a passionate, dedicated Float Dentist ready to make a real difference in the lives of underserved communities? At the VNACJ Community Health Center (CHC), we’re looking for someone like YOU to join our vibrant team and provide top-notch dental care to those who need it most. The position would be responsible for providing dental care services in collaboration with Community Health Center Asbury Park, Freehold and Red Bank locations. This role is Full-Time.

The key responsibilities of the CHC Dentist are:

Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.

Learn the Community Health Center culture through interactions with colleagues; taking part in trainings; developing relationships with leadership

Provides dental treatment to Medicaid and other underserved patients at the sites within established productivity guidelines

Assists in preparation of clinical reports and documents and complies with all reporting mechanisms

Act as a resource person to parents, teachers, nurses and other officials

Ensures compliance with the New Jersey Board of Dentistry & New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Ambulatory Care Regulations for Licensure as well as requirements of other licensing and accrediting bodies, health maintenance organizations and other insurance carriers

Collaborates in the provision of in-service education for staff

Adheres to CHC infection control and safety policies and guidelines of primary care regulatory agencies

Participates in community outreach programs regarding CHC services and programs

Supervises dental hygienists and dental assistants in conjunction with the organization’s managerial and leadership policies and procedures

The ideal candidate for the Dentist position will have the following qualifications:

A mission-driven mentality, with a passion for caring for patients in underserved communities

Licensed as a dentist in the state of New Jersey

CPR, Infection Control, and other training certificates as required by NYSDOH regulations

2+ years of clinical work experience in a hospital or community health center setting preferred

Maintain an active CDS license

Car and valid NJ driver’s license

Ability to work and interact in a culturally diverse environment

Speaking a 2nd language is a plus, though not mandatory
