Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Roosevelt Medical Center is a small facility in need of a NP or PA with an interest in caring for patients in our rural health clinic, a 25-bed critical access hospital with long-term care, and a 24-hour ER. We do not provide surgical or obstetrical services. This is a great opportunity for the mid-level provider who likes autonomy and the chance to maximize his/her skills and knowledge in primary care. This job is also for the mid-level provider who wants to develop long-term relationships with patients and provide care for an individual across the continuum from infancy through old age. Role Description

The mid-level provider will work with the Physician and other Physician’s Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioners. Providers see between 10 and 20 patients per day in the Rural Health Clinic. The average daily CAH inpatient census is 1. Long term care census is 23-24. The emergency room visits average 40-50 per month so while on call, providers are not onsite, but must be available to respond within 30 minutes. The mid-level shares call with the Physician and PAs/NPs 1-2 weeknights, holidays, and 1:3 weekends. The mid-level provider interacts with facility quality activities. Full-service lab with blood banking and some bacteriology. Radiology services include basic x-ray and Toshiba CT with off-site radiologist over-read. State-designated trauma receiving facility. This position could be right for the mid-level provider wanting to maintain full-time practice but at a slower and much more personal pace. Qualifications

Clinical skills such as patient assessment and treatment

Ability to diagnose and treat common illnesses

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in collaborating with healthcare teams

Knowledge of preventive health measures

Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification

Valid state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
