Position Description

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician to join our growing healthcare team. This individual will provide direct clinical service to patients of all ages in an integrated team-based model of care. A portion of services shall include the provision of care to individuals and family members affected by substance use disorder. She/he will participate in quality improvement activities and help develop programming as needed by the leadership team at Maika‘i Health.

Primary Responsiblities

* Contribute to a team-oriented approach to patient care and fully participate in integrating behavioral health into all relevant patient care services at Maika‘i Health.
* Incorporate health behavior change and wellness into patient treatment goals.
* Provide telehealth services within the organization’s strategy to expand access to care.
* Conduct chemical dependency program orientation sessions.
* Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
* Provide clients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services or programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
* Coordinate duties with pertinent staff members to successfully meet deliverable goals for grant-funded projects.
* Perform diagnostic evaluations with patients of all ages and translate them into comprehensive treatment interventions to meet patient’s needs.
* Provide crisis management services in urgent situations.
* Create patient-centered treatment plans, provide ongoing treatment, and assess patients’ clinical needs and progress.
* Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding the patients’ histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
* Coordinate care with other team members involved patient care including but not limited to primary care and pharmacy services as well as community-based agencies.
* Contribute to the team’s development of criteria to evaluate safety, efficacy, and sustainability.
* Confer with clients to develop plans for posttreatment activities.
* Develop, implement, maintain, or evaluate public education, clinic/colleague education, prevention, or health promotion programs, working in collaboration with organizations, institutions, or communities.
* Contribute to training programs for students.
* Attend training sessions to increase knowledge and skills
* Reach annual targets – individually, departmentally and organization-wide.

Canididate Requirements

* Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited school
* Independent clinical license to practice in the State of Hawaii (PsyD, PhD); license-eligible candidates will be considered
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant health or related fields.
* Experience in public health or non-profit organization, including any related background in community organizing and/or development.
* Strong commitment to the organization’s Mission and values with the ability to demonstrate that commitment in daily interactions.
* Previous grantmaking or lending experience is preferred, but not required.
* Experience that demonstrates commitment to racial and social justice and community engagement to impact change at the community level.
* Excellent analytical and writing skills.
* Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to effect change.
* Demonstrated ability to think of several possible explanations or alternatives for a situation, anticipate potential obstacles, and develop contingency plans to overcome them.
* Ability to adequately assess a situation, make sound judgement, extract and use relevant information to support a decision.
* Effective time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload and deliver work products within deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
* Experience working collaboratively across sectors.
* Ability to travel (20%), which may fluctuate depending on program schedules.
