Position Description
Southern Humboldt Community Health District (SHCHD) in Garberville, CA seeks an LCSW to work with our Emergency Department and Clinic. The position will involve providing direct therapeutic services for individuals including youth, couples, families and groups. Services will include counseling patients in the Emergency Department and clinic to assist in problem solving, recommendations for treatment, and forming behavioral change goals. As a new position in a rural, under resourced setting, SHCHD is seeking an enthusiastic person with forward thinking, flexibility, and the ability to tailor the program to the needs of the community. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Essential Functions
1. Respond to patients in crisis situations during regular hours of operation
2. Complete behavioral health assessment and treatment planning
3. Observe patient behavior and asses for appropriate evidence-based interventions
4. Work with patients to develop outpatient treatment plans and make referrals as needed for future care
5. Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including external partners
6. Maintain complete chart notes
7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA policies and regulations
8. Demonstrate cultural competency and commitment to patients
9. Instruct clients’ families during treatment
10. Other duties as assigned

2. Strong written communication skills required to maintain quality documentation
3. Ability to prioritize all aspects of the job
4. Ability to provide group, individual, and family counseling sessions

6. Must display professionalism and leadership qualities
7. Knowledge and respect of all confidentiality issues
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Licensure Requirements
* LCSW certification required
Preferred Education and Experience
* Comfortable with, and experience in, rural communities such as Southern Humboldt County, among a population of adults with mental health challenges, substance use disorder, indigence, and chronic health conditions
* One year of experience providing clinical services to adults with substance abuse issues; Less experienced candidates will be considered with strong recommendations from clinical supervisors.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work and ACSW/AMFT registration required. California LCSW or LMFT preferred.

Weekdays (8-5)
Compensation:
Pay Range: $62.00-$85.82, Full-Time DOE
Compensation Range:
$50,000 – $100,000
