Come join a great team at State Hospital West (SHW)! We are seeking a Clinician for SHW located in Nampa. SHW is a 16-bed Adolescent Psychiatric Treatment Hospital (for adolescents between 11 and 18 years old) nestled between Ridgecrest and Centennial golf courses on a picturesque piece of state property along the Nampa Interstate 84 corridor. SHW provides psychiatric inpatient treatment care for Idaho’s adolescent citizens with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses. The hospital works in partnership with families and communities to enable clients to return to community living and is accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and certified by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

This position also requires applicants to become certified in CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.

Employees will be required to work weekends, holidays, and day shifts.

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

Assess clients’ recreation and activity skills

Consult with other professionals regarding clients’ physical disabilities

Obtain medical/social/educational histories through interviews or review of case records

Analyze and interpret assessment results

Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and plan developmental or rehabilitative treatment for clients

Determine long and short-term recreational treatment goals to meet clients’ needs

Evaluate facility therapeutic recreation procedures

Conduct individual and group programs to meet established goals

Obtain materials and equipment to facilitate treatment goals

Document treatment and prepares reports

Coordinate treatment with other providers

Evaluate clients’ needs for further treatment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s Degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field (Master’s degree in social work ,psychology, marriage and family counseling/therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study). Substance abuse education or certification (ACADC, CADC) in addition is preferred, but not required.

This position requires licensure in one of the following: Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Pastoral Counselor (LPAS), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT).
