Position Description
The CMO provides direct patient care (.4 FTE) while supervising clinical operations and healthcare provider staff development and quality (.6 FTE). The CMO exercises a high degree of responsibility, judgment, and initiative related to patient care of the center and must have a broad working knowledge of all aspects of the clinic. The CMO will ensure that all federal, state, and local regulations involved in Health Center clinical operations are implemented and followed. This includes addressing the needs of special populations (migrant and seasonal farm workers, individuals experiencing homelessness, and other community center clients who may present with financial, social, cultural, or educational barriers to healthcare). The CMO is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining clinic policies and procedures and ensuring all staff that interact with patients are oriented, trained, supervised, and evaluated such that team-based, patient-oriented care is provided.

Requirements
Education:
A: Graduation from a college or university accredited by the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD or DO) degree. Board Certification in one of the following: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Med/Peds or Internal Medicine. Board Certification in Family Medicine or Med/Peds is preferred.
The candidate is required to maintain continuing education in quantity to satisfy requirements for re-licensure.
License:
A: Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky, or eligible for licensure, as required by KRS 311.560, and holds a valid DEA certificate, which credentials and associated fees are the sole responsibility of the physician.
– A criminal background check is required.
– License must be free and unrestricted without Board imposed restrictions or sanctions on practice
Experience: At least 7 years of clinical and 3 years of administrative or supervisory experience required, preferably in an ambulatory, public health, or community health setting.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventive and primary care medicine.
Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine, advanced practice, and HHS/HRSA regulations.
