_About The Hospital_
Located just north of Guam in the Western Pacific Ocean, Saipan is the main island in an island chain that makes up the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), a commonwealth of the United States. The medical center is an 86-bed hospital and outpatient facility, located in the city of Garapan and serves a population of about 50,000 people.
The facility offers a broad range of services and specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Head and Neck Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Podiatry, Oncology, Inpatient and Outpatient Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Emergency Medicine, and Nephrology.

Saipan is a lush tropical island located at the northern end of the Northern Mariana Islands in the Western Pacific Ocean and is considered a WWII heritage site with a complex and intriguing history. _About The Practice_
At CHCC you will be part of a collaborative medical community providing services to the local population as well as tourists and other visitors. Transferring patients off the island for services is difficult and often not possible. As a result, General Surgery here is full spectrum and includes basic bread and butter services as well as endoscopy, trauma and critical care, some pediatric surgery, urology, some vascular surgery, and occasional neurosurgery. Don’t be intimidated by this! We are collaborative and work together as a team to provide care for our patients and to assist one another in being successful.

Practice Details
* Full spectrum General Surgery Practice.
* Endoscopy skills required (40% of practice).
* Trauma (low volume, mixed acuity).
* Call is 1:4 and usually consolidated.
* Average daily patient volume is 4.
* Average surgical procedures per month is 15 major and 30 minor.
* Average clinic schedule is 4 full days per month with 1 week of no clinic.
* Community outreach to surrounding islands.
* Malpractice coverage provided under the CNMI Government Liability Act.
* Annual Leave accrues at eight (8) hours per pay period (bi-weekly), with a full-time employment contract.
* Sick Leave accrues at four (4) hours per pay period (bi-weekly)
* Up to 5 days of paid leave for CME.
* Health Insurance: AETNA Health Insurance
* 401a Retirement Plan Option: ASC Trust Corporation
* Health and Life Group Insurance: Cost-sharing per corporate policies
* Life Insurance: Individual Assurance Company Life, Health, & Accident (IAC)
* Health Professional Loan Repayment.
* $10,000 signing bonus for initial contracts of at least 2 years.
* Retention bonuses.
* Earnings within the Commonwealth are taxed at no more than the maximum CNMI tax rate of 9%. Also, there is no sales or property tax in the CNMI. *_(If you live in the CNMI for 183 days or more during the tax year, and otherwise meet requirements, then CNMI residency status is met for that year. Additionally, a rebate of net income tax paid on CNMI source income is an incentive in the net income system. The amount subject to rebate, rebate base, is generally the tax on CNMI source net income less allowable credits.)_
Qualifications
* Permanent and locums positions available.
* Must have completed a U.S. or Canadian General Surgical Residency Training Program.
* Must have an NPI and be Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement eligible.
* ACLS/BLS required.
* CNMI license required (we will assist you with the application process). *Licensing and credentialing take 6-8 weeks.

Compensation:
$270,000 P/A (with our favorable tax structure, this would be equivalent to receiving a gross salary of approx. $410K in SF or NYC)
Benefits:
* $10,000 one-time signing bonus for initial contracts of at least 2 years.
* International flight from the point of recruitment for the employee. Return flight to original embarkation is included and will be arranged upon completion of contract.
* Malpractice coverage is provided under the CNMI Government Liability Act (essentially identical to the Federal Tort Claims Act).
* Reimbursement of up to $250 for pre-employment health screening costs.
* Annual Leave: Accrues at eight (8) hours per pay period (bi-weekly), with a full-time Employment Contract
* Sick Leave: Accrues at four (4) hours per pay period (bi-weekly)
* Up to 5 days of paid leave for CME.
