Position Description

_Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital _is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker Ranch Center.

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares and performs a variety of CT procedures.
• Provides patient care during procedures.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force, carrying usual weight of 25 pounds.
• Continuous: reaching at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, frequent gripping of an object.
• Frequent: stooping/bending, lifting weight up to maximum weight of 50 pounds, carrying usual weight of 50 pounds, reaching above shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: kneeling, squatting, twisting body.
• Operates CT scanner, injectors, interventional equipment, CT display consoles, computer, telephone, printer.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Exposed to communicable diseases.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii state license as Radiologic Technologist.
• Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.).
• Current BLS/HCP certification.

B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care facility;
OR
• One (1) year experience in Radiologic Special Procedures.
• CT experience preferred.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively communicate with the Medical Staff.
o Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation:

Starting pay rates range from $41.27 – $45.86/hour based on experience. 12 hour shifts, with $4.00/hour night shift differential.
