Overview: The VA Northern California Health Care System is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist to join our team at the VA Redding Clinic. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve our nation’s veterans by providing high-quality, comprehensive gastroenterological care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: * Diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal disorders in our veteran patient population. * Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and advanced endoscopic procedures. * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to ensure continuity and quality of care. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes primary care providers, specialists, nurses, and support staff to deliver comprehensive care. * Provide education to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and disease prevention. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of gastroenterology services within the VA system. * Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and other trainees as part of our commitment to academic excellence. Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required. * Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology. * Possession of a current, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory. * Proven experience in both outpatient and inpatient gastroenterological care. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care. * Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
