Job Summary and Qualifications
What you will do in this Role:
Essential functions of the Court Liaison position include:
- Liaison between the mental illness court attorneys and the patients who have commitment procedures pending
- Liaison between the hospital staff and/or patients regarding legal issues involving the mental illness courts
- Liaison between the Treatment Managers and the psychiatrists regarding court issues
- Responsible for filing and tracking all legal documents in the mental illness courts of the seven NorthSTAR counties
- Submit statistical analysis and trends of the mental health courts to administration
- Provide all pertinent information on the transportation of committed patients to administration
- Completes psychosocial assessments and reviews diagnosis
- Develops a treatment plan with specific goals delineating clinical intervention related diagnosis for each patient
- Facilitates processes and psycho-educational groups for clients and family members of clients
- Facilitates family discharge meetings
- Communicates with patient, family, treatment team, physician and payers
- Manages the utilization of services through concurrent reviews with payers and/or through internal reviews
- Communicates and documents all relevant information to treatment team
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures
- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to adherence of the company’s Code of Conduct
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures
- Assists in management of a safe and therapeutic milieu
- Performs other duties as requested or required
# What qualifications you will need:
* Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from a nationally accredited school required and must be a licensed provider
- Inpatient experience working with all patient populations is required
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required
- Must complete restraint and seclusion training as well as techniques to address aggressive or threatening behavior (as outlined in Rule 415.257 of the Texas Administrative Code) prior to assuming direct care responsibilities, if the employee does not provide proof of current SAMA certification
