Job Summary and Qualifications
We are currently seeking a Cardiac Rehab RN to join our team. As our Cardiac
Rehab RN you will beresponsible for the observation, assessment, nursing
diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation of care. You will also have
responsibility for healthcare teaching and counseling of the ill, injured or
infirm; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention
of illness of others.We are an amazing team that works hard to support each

Your tasks and responsibilities may include:
- You will administer medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments.
- You willperform assessment and reassessment of the patient’s physical condition and nursing needs; develop, implement and communicate patient’s Plan of Care with patient.
- You will set goals and take appropriate nursing action to meet those goals while ensuring patient’s physical, emotional and rehabilitative needs are met.
- You willcoordinate patient’s Cardiac Rehab care through all phases of the interdisciplinary care plan. You will also assist with Phase II and III Cardiac Rehab protocols including use of telemetry, treadmills, etc.
- You willidentify patients with permanent pacemakers, evaluate pacemaker function on telemetry, and identify problems.
- You will apply and utilize telemetry for monitoring of heart rate, regularity and exercise tolerance.
Requirements:
- Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. ARNP also accepted.
- American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
- Two years previous RN experience working with cardiac patients, preferably on a telemetry unit or coronary care unit
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a
full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on
the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic
care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include
labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and
pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer
inpatient, and outpatient surgical services.
Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The
Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma
Center. We are verified by the American College of Surgeons. We offer a
freestanding ER in Vero Beach. We provide emergency treatment for adults and
children. We also offer the area’s only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric
