APP Nocturnist HOSPITALIST 3/12’s $130K-$175K, Dunkirk NY

## General Physician, P.C. is recruiting for a PA/NP for our Hospitalist Program at Brooks TLC Hospital located in Dunkirk, NY.

The successful PA/NP will provide clinical support to inpatient adult patients on the night shift with the ongoing readily available support of the Supervising/ Collaborating, Emergency Medicine and Anesthesia providers. This is a full-time Hospitalist position, scheduled as 12-hour shifts for a Nocturnist.

The position hours: Flexible hours, rotating schedule

#### Key Responsibilities

* Hospitalist shall provide prompt, responsive and quality medical services to Brooks-TLC inpatients in a manner that promotes the effective and efficient operation of the Brooks-TLC Hospitalist Service Program
* Admit, diagnose and thereafter assume and provide or arrange for all reasonably necessary inpatient medical care services and treatment to each patient referred to the Program by a referring physician.
* Promptly review patient records upon admission and coordinate treatment with the referring physician.
* Ensure that Hospitalist s own services contribute to favorable health care outcomes by monitoring and evaluating the necessity, appropriateness, efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of medical services ordered and provided to prevent unnecessary utilization of medical services and tests.
* Ensure the proper documentation and coding of medical records through self-education and work with administrative personnel to improve the accuracy of documentation and coding of medical records for billing and reimbursement purposes.

#### Candidate Requirements

* Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program;
* Board certification
* New York State license
* DEA registration
* BLS, ACLS and Infection Control certifications.

The current Brooks Memorial Hospital, located in Dunkirk, NY, is a 65 bed community hospital, located about an hour south of Buffalo, NY. It is part of the Kaleida Health system, and provides vital services to the community. The hospital services include Cardiac Rehab, Cardiology, Emergency Care, Gastroenterology, Inpatient Care, Intensive Care, Laboratory Services, Orthopedic Services, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Surgery, Urgent care and Urology Services.

### The NEW Brooks Memorial Hospital Announcement, 2024

Governor Kathy Hochul announced in June 2024, along with hospital leadership, community stakeholders and organized labor announced an agreement with Kaleida Health and Brooks-TLC Health Systems to build a new hospital in the Village of Fredonia in Chautauqua County. Governor Hochul’s administration has been working with Kaleida Health on terms of an agreement and plan to move forward with construction of the new hospital replacing the Brooks-TLC in the City of Dunkirk. This site is enabled by a newly established Health Care Safety Net Transformation Program included by the Governor in this year’s Budget to encourage partnerships that improve the resilience of safety-net institutions by providing strategic capital and operating support, in addition to required regulatory flexibility. The new Brooks Hospital project will be supported by $74 million from the State that was previously committed. Kaleida and Brooks-TLC will work together to build the new hospital, which is expected to open within 3 years.

The pay range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant at the time of posting. When determining pay, several factors will be considered including but not limited to location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, professional credentials, internal equity, and budget.
