Position Description
Provides evidence-based and best practice culturally competent direct mental health services to include assessment, consultation, evaluation, treatment plan development, treatment coordination, individual, group and family therapy services, and case management.
Provide evidence-based and best practice culturally competent treatment, referral and/or ongoing care for full range of behavioral health disorders.
Assess and refer for chronic mental illness in adults; collaborate with other community specialists in care of children with Serious Emotional Disturbance.
Collaborate with Behavioral Health team in development and facilitation of program services; weekly staffing of clients’ treatment progress; collegial work with other clinicians and agencies in care of complex clients, including Severe and Persistent Mental Illness. (SPMI)
Maintain appropriate and timely record keeping for all treatment activities in accordance with agency policy and procedure, and with State of Idaho statute.
Cooperate with Behavioral Health team members in updating Department policies and procedures; collaborate in designing program manuals, and curriculum.
Coordinate and case manage an active caseload of behavioral health clients.
Serve on committees as directed by supervisor.
Adheres to and promote compliance with applicable laws, safety codes, HIPAA, Human Resources Manual, Vehicle Use Maintenance Manual, Finance Manual and departmental policies and procedures. Follow specific Code of Ethics depending on credential.
Must have a positive work history; responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record; maintain strict confidentiality; may be required to work during irregular work hours; position is non-shift specific (day, swing, or graveyard) and weekends, as needed, in response to a pandemic or declared emergency. Telework may be available at supervisor’s discretion.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This work is performed primarily indoors. Duties require extended periods of standing, sitting, walking or bending; may be required to lift up to 45 pounds. May require travel for wellness activities with/for clients. Incumbent may be requested to work evening or weekend hours to ensure optimum client service. May be required to provide treatment and/or education services at other community settings or Nimiipuu Health facilities. Flexible hours are available to best serve client and staff member needs. Potential for exposure to common contagious and infectious diseases and body fluids. Potential exposure to unpredictable behavior from patients, families and visitors. Nimiipuu Health is a smoke-free and drug free workplace.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH: Will be required to maintain compliance with all Nimiipuu Employee Health requirements as identified in the Infection Control Policies. Must maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Requires Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Sciences or other Human Services discipline. Two (2) years of work-related experience preferred. If clinician is not yet independently licensed in the State of Idaho, NMPH may provide supervisory hours required to become licensed. Clinician agrees to meet the State of Idaho’s requirement of a supervisory plan and or meet qualifications to be a Psychology Service Extender or Registered Intern. Clinician is required to work towards Idaho licensure and secure such license within two years or otherwise agreed upon time with NMPH. Must be willing to become competent in working with children, adolescents, and adults. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, demonstrate ability to manage conflict and crises in a professional manner, be a team player, be computer literate. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable record under the Tribe’s policy. Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Must maintain licensure/certification when obtained. Tribal/Indian Preference applies.

Personnel Time Off:
7.5 hour per pay period: 1 – 3 years of service
9.5 hours per pay period: 4 – 15 years of service
11.5 hours per pay period: 15+ years of service
Part-Time employees are paid on a pro-rated basis. Available after 90-day Introductory Period.
Veterans can count
honorable service year for year.
Sick Leave: 4.5 hours per pay period. Part-Time employees are paid on a pro-rated basis.
Emergency Leave: Up to 5 days per calendar to attend funerals, memorials or to tend to the serious illness of immediate family.
Administrative Leave: Granted by the Executive Director in special circumstances.
