Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do:

• Responsible for daily operations and activities within the Sterile Processing department.
• Demonstrates skill in planning, organizing and managing personnel resources in a cost effective and productive manner for the operations of the unit.
• Orient, train, and develop staff. Ensures education is completed for new and existing staff with any change or improvement in process.
• Provides input to Surgical Services Manager and Director regarding space/equipment recommendations, budgetary needs, and other resources needed by the department.
• Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments and equipment using detergents and disinfecting solutions.
• Sterilizes instruments, equipment, linen and related supplies using sterilizers and Sterrad according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Prepares surgical sets, instruments, treatment trays according to prescribed procedures ensuring that all instrumentation is correct and accurate.

# What qualifications you will need:

* BLS Certification (AHA Provider) required

• Sterile Processing Certification preferred
• Training as a sterile tech or surgical tech preferred
• Prior central sterile experience preferred
