Position Description
Essential Job Functions May Include and Not Limited to:
Serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, will actively engage, and collaborate in the organization’s strategic planning, financial planning, and clinical operations at the health center.
The CMO will play a key role in building and shaping a strong culture at the CHC including and not limited to having clinical and quality oversight to all clinical programs while offering direct coaching and development to our clinical provider team.
Provides clinical and administrative leadership to all medical providers; this includes coaching and development of teams and building and shaping of an inclusive culture. Leads and supports the development of provider leaders to co-manage sites and programs with the Director of Operations and site clinic managers.
Serves as chief clinical liaison to CountyCare and Medical Home Network ACO’s Clinical Committee.
In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety manage overall and program specific continuous quality improvement initiatives with input from Risk & Compliance Manager.
Reviews monthly medical encounter, operational and quality statistics, and confers with managers and individual providers regarding problems in this area; identifies opportunities for improvement.
Manages and oversees the preparation of relevant reports to the Bureau of Primary Health Care including the non-financial components of the annual Uniform Data System (UDS) report.
Performs clinical duties in his/her specialty as described in the staff physician job description.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
MD/DO from an accredited educational institution. A Master’s (MPH, MBA, MS, MSPH, MHA) degree in health care related field is desirable.
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive and broad senior leadership experience and/or at least seven (7) years of direct primary health care experience.
Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges.
Experience collaborating closely and/or leading cross-functional teams while driving metrics and business out.
Passion to drive better patient health outcomes and grow new and innovative care models.
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading institutional change at an executive level.
Strong communication skills with clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Strong fiscal and strategic management skills.
Certifications and/or Licensures Required (if applicable):
Current, active, and unrestricted Physician Licensure in State of Illinois or eligible
Current Illinois Controlled Substance License
Current Federal DEA License
Board certified in primary care specialty (required)
