Position Description
_Key Responsibilities:_
At the VA Maryland Health Care System (7/8ths FTE):
* Provide comprehensive clinical care to veterans with endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid conditions, and metabolic diseases.
* Manage inpatient and outpatient endocrinology consults.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and implement evidence-based practices.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics related to endocrinology care.
* Engage in teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating at the VAMHCS.
* Participate in clinical research activities, with opportunities for collaboration and support from VAMHCS and UMSOM’s resources.
At the University of Maryland School of Medicine (1/8th FTE):
* Contribute to the academic mission through teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development for medical students and trainees.
* Attend departmental and divisional meetings to contribute to the strategic goals of the endocrinology program.
_Qualifications:_
* Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
* Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
* Board Certification/Eligibility: Board-certified or board-eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
* Experience: Previous experience in clinical care, education, and/or research in endocrinology is highly desirable.
* Additional Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
