Family Medicine Residency Faculty – SW Georgia

* Started in 1993
* 24 residents in program (8 per year)
* Current number of residents as of 3/8/23 = 23 residents
* 5 of faculty, looking to get to 8 faculty members
* As of 2020, over 70% of graduates practice in the state of Georgia or in the region
* All residents have passed boards since 2014

Requirement(s): Board certified or board eligible (to complete w/in 5 years) – preference is Family Medicine candidates since they see children (or Internal Medicine Peds)

* FMOB preferred (for OB experience) but candidate with strong OB experience will be considered

Clinic description:

# of patients treated – average 9 patients per session

Common conditions – diverse patient mix

Clinic support staff – in-house pharmacist with UGA school of pharmacy (couple days/week), memory assessment clinic (Emory outreach for Alzheimer’s and dementia), medical assistants, phlebotomist, on-site x-ray with rad tech (shared w/convenient care clinic)

Schedule (sample template, can vary based on need):

* 3 half days of admin time
* 2 half days of precepting
* 5 half days per week of clinic time
* Must be willing to do inpatient coverage
* 5-6 weeks out of the year of inpatient time (12-hour shifts)
-Done a week at a time (7 days)
-No call at night due to nocturnist help in evenings

Description of Preferred Candidate Skills

* OB to include completion of OB fellowship
* DO with interest in working with osteopathic residents and that has OMT (osteopathic manipulative treatment) experience
* Procedural (interest in beyond routine, a plus not a requirement)
* Point-of-care ultrasound

Simulation training:

* Phoebe launched Simulation and Innovation Center June of 2020 in Albany; includes 22,000 square feet of education and training space
* Has high fidelity mannequins and rooms that emulate actual hospital facilities (NICU, Critical Care, OB, traditional hospital room)

* Required Certifications/Licensures: Board certified physician or board certification eligible (if eligible, must obtain board certification within 5 years)

Compensation:

$215K Base Salary, $25K Sign on, up to $15K Relocation
