Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Financial Coordinator for the Valve Clinic, you will be responsible for
collecting financial and insurance information from heart failure and managed
care patients, verifying coverage, and obtaining required pre-certifications
prior to procedures. You will act as a resource to medical directors,
admitting, and finance, and communicate with insurance case managers. You will
counsel patients on financial issues surrounding inpatient and outpatient
care, and will communicate patient financial status with all involved parties
in the process.
- * ·You will develop and maintain processes and procedures related to implant clearance to provide for maximum reimbursement, and act as being the financial liaison between the hospital inpatient and outpatient clinic with the patient/family
- You will obtain appropriate information on patient’s healthcare coverage
- You will obtain required pre-certification from insurance company
- You will communicate financial concerns to other individuals involved with the patient
- You will conduct financial counseling with patients
- You will handle contract management
- You will support the leadership team with cases under financial review
- You will work with directors, managers, and program coordinators to enable patients to undergo implantation
Job Qualifications
Experience
- Intermediate computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook and various insurance verification databases
- Experience with patient registration, financial counseling, or medical insurance – preferred
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent
