Department: Physician Assistant (PA) – Family Medicine

Position Description

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to provide primary care services to patients of all ages, manages chronic conditions, and promotes preventive health measures. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner supports the Director of Primary Care and provides quality medical care to all patients while maintaining compliance with all federal grants, OSHA, Medical Board or Kansas State Board of Nursing, and HHC policies and procedures.

As an integrated health care center, Advanced Practice Provider responsibilities also include:

carrying out patient-centered health promotion and disease prevention activities including education and shared decision-making

providing appropriate periodic mental health assessments, screenings, counseling and treatment for mental illness, family violence, and diseases of addiction

consult and coordinate care with collaborating physicians, Advance Practice clinicians; Dentists; care team support (RNs, LPNs, MAs); Integrated Care Coordinators; Pharmacy; Lab and all other integrated services.

Assist in program development, maintenance, and quality assurance as outlined by HRSA, IHS and Clinic policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in Nursing/Science of Nursing and Active board certification with ANCC or AANP, or Completion of Physician Associate/Assistant program

Active Kansas license to practice as an APRN or NP or PA

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Current DEA

3-5 years of previous clinical work experience preferred.

Prior experience in a Community Health Center preferred.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master’s degree in Nursing/Science of Nursing and Active board certification with ANCC or AANP, or Completion of Physician Associate/Assistant program

Active Kansas license to practice as an APRN or NP or PA

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Current DEA

3-5 years of previous clinical work experience preferred.

Prior experience in a Community Health Center preferred.
