Fulfilling Assistant Chief of Dental Service serving our veterans- NOLA

The Southeast Louisiana VA Health Care System in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a full-time Dentist to serve as its Assistant Chief of Dental Service. Highlights of this position include:

* Competitive Starting Salary $210,000-$265,000
* Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm (other times as required)
* Direct patient care with the balance as administrative (approx. 75-80% Clinical duties)

* Perform specific duties within his/her approved scope of practice

* Provide dental screenings, cleanings, X-rays, and fillings

* Candidate will also provide specialty dental procedures like periodontal care removable and fixed prosthetics including implant restoration

* Conducting performance appraisals

* Responsible for overseeing dental provider’s clinic coverage at local service level

* Orienting and providing in-service training and education of all persons in the Service in collaboration with staff of other services

Additional Requirements:

* Postgraduate dental education
* 5-10 years of dental practice recommended
* Supervisorial experience is advised
* Prefer VA dental service experience
* Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
* Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
