General Dentist – Independent Contractor

The Wood County Health Department is seeking a General Dentist – Independent Contractor to provide full scope of general dentistry services, including preventative, restorative, and complex treatment, addressing a wide range of patient needs across all ages.

Responsibilities

* Maintains full appointment schedule for office practice
* Meets patient needs as they arise
* Utilizes appropriate diagnostic and treatment techniques and delegates and refers care as appropriate
* Maintains necessary credentialing, licensure and continuing education requirements
* Provides a full range of general dental services within the dentist’s defined scope of training
* Communicates with the dental staff regarding patient treatment plans
* Educates patients and parents of patients on maintaining proper oral health
* Carefully documents in the EDR all medications, diagnosis, treatments and consultations and follows treatment plans
* Provides team leadership to Dental Staff
* Adheres to established clinical protocols and office procedures for all visit types.

Required Qualifications

* DDS or DMD degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in general dentistry
* Current licensure in the state of Ohio. Must be maintained throughout employment.
* Valid DEA license to prescribe narcotics. Must be maintained throughout employment.
* Current CPR/AED certification. Must be maintained throughout employment.
* Valid Ohio driver’s license
* Proof of automobile insurance
* Clear record with Ohio State Dental Board
* Knowledge of public health laws, regulations and standards as defined by federal, state and local governments
* The ability to successfully pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior experience in a FQHC is preferred

Job Type: Independent Contractors

Schedule: Multiple positions available with varied schedules:

* One Position – Regular schedule, Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
* Other positions – On call, intermittent as needed

Pay: Starting at $84.13 hour
