Eastern Oklahoma VA Healthcare System (EOVAHCS)
Position Description
The type of practice environment would be a face-to-face clinic to cover consultations, follow-up patient visits as well as post-operative patients, emergency room consultations, and the opportunity to train orthopedic residents. We currently have three part-time orthopedic surgeons, one full-time hand surgeon, and a part-time hand surgeon, as well as two physician assistants.
Education & Experience Requirements:
· Must be a U.S. Citizen -Non-citizens will be considered if unable to find a US citizen.
· Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
· Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery. Board Eligibility may also be considered.
* Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Compensation:
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday.
We are offering a sign-on bonus!
· $300,000 to 400,000

· Board Certification in Anesthesiology. Board Eligibility may also be considered.

· Malpractice: VHA physicians are covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act

Contract buyout program:
VHA Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
