Job Description:
Education: MLT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA’88; current Nevada licensure/certification
Experience: 2 years experience as Medical Laboratory Technician

## The Valley Health System
Requirements
and procedures. Oversees MLT’s, Point of Care Lab Assistants, and Lab Assistants in assigned areas of work. Supports
and assists Medical Technologists and Lead Medical Technologists as required. Requires minimal to moderate
supervision, (task dependent). General Supervisor must be on site.
Qualifications
Technical Skills: General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities
License/Certification: Nevada State Licensure as Medical Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician; ASCP or equivalent board registration upon hire. A current Nevada Provisional License accepted with the contingency that the Nevada State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be completed prior to Provisional License expiration date.
Other: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality of patient
care appropriately (specific age competent). Must possess appropriate people skills,
organization and attention to detail. Must desire to act as a resource and provide assistance as
required.
