Position Description
The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute seeks a non-invasive or general cardiologist as a Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention program. Experienced cardiologists or graduating fellows with leadership interests are welcome.
Director, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention, Non-Invasive or General Cardiologist, Starting $550-$600,000 Compensation
The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute (CMHVI) seeks an interested non-invasive cardiologist as a Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention program. The program is one of many new developing programs in a dedicated service line consisting of inpatient and outpatient cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, structural and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and a robust vascular surgery program. Both experienced cardiologists and graduating fellows are welcome.
The Medical Director will oversee the Cardiac Rehabilitation program, as well as the Lipid Program, Hypertension Clinic, and the Medical Management program. The Medical Management program has dedicated Nurse Practitioners and nursing staff for patient education, compliance, and safety. The Medical Director will be active clinically and focus on primary and secondary prevention. There will be dedicated administrative time for quality and process improvement.
The CMHVI is part of a larger Central Maine Healthcare which includes three hospitals located in Lewiston, Rumford, and Bridgeton. The CMHVI has an affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital and is currently developing collaborative programs in surgery, shock, and heart failure. There are opportunities for an interested candidate to expand on this MGH affiliation both clinically and academically.
