Job Summary and Qualifications
The Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist’s primary responsibilities are to
produce diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures as ordered and assist
physicians or radiologists in delivering high-quality patient care.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist model’s adherence to the Hospital’s
applicable policies, protocols, practices, and expectations
- Nuclear Medicine imaging and computer manipulation and processing
- Camera quality control radiation safety
- Radioisotope administration and documentation
- Image processing and labeling
- Scheduling of procedures
- Use of office computers, filing system, phone and paging systems
- Transporting of patients
What qualifications you will need:
- Must have satisfactorily completed a two-year training program in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent North Carolina state license
- Must be certified through the ARRT
- New hires or transfers to a different modality must achieve certification within six months of that assignment
- Must maintain current CPR certification
- Venipuncture certification
- Must be current with continuing education requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of teamwork
