Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Nurse Manager has the
direct-line responsibility for day-to-day operations and overall
responsibility for the Behavioral Health Department, insuring that employees
have effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The
Nurse Manager insures that the charge nurse fulfills their responsibilities as
front-line supervisors. The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24 hour basis
for the coordination of patient care, administrative and nursing activities.
The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24 hour basis for the quality of nursing
care provided to our patients’. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the
implementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities.

# What qualifications you will need:

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required. Master’s Degree in Nursing,
Healthcare Administration or Business is preferred
· 3+ years of acute care behavioral health experience required, with at least
one year of leadership experience in healthcare within specialty. Preferred
degree can substitute for one (1) years of the required experience.
· Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse
License required
· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course
(BLS or BCLS) and Certification required within 2 weeks of hire
· ·CPI within 90 days of hire then every calendar year required
· National certification in specialty must be achieved within 12 months of
appointment if not current required

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date required
