HRRMC’s Surgery Department is seeking a Nurse Practitioner First Assist to work on call as needed. This position is schedule to work PRN and may included weekends. Previous OR experience is required.
Nurse Practitioner First Assist (NPFA) under direct supervision of the surgeon while in the Operating Room in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Colorado and the AORN Position Statement. The NPFA practices in collaboration with the surgeon and the health care team in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. Provides quality nursing care in all areas of surgical services.

Education & Experience Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Nurse Practitioner (NP) is required from an accredited nursing program and two years of perioperative nursing experience.
* Successful completion of an NPFA program that meets the AORN Recommended Education Standards for NPFA programs or two years of experience as a documented First Assist.
* Required annual minimal competence is 250 documented hours.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* Must maintain current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
* Must maintain current CPR certification.
* Must maintain current ACLS certification.
* Must maintain current PALS
* Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License in Colorado
* Unrestricted DEA Registration Certification

Compensation:
Hourly pay is based on years of experience and ranges from $43.83 – $65.7/ hour.
8% PRN differential will be granted.
