Position Description
Provide comprehensive and compassionate patient care to address the ongoing psychiatric needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric adult patients served by Warm Valley Health Care facilities by integrating advanced education, research, management, consultation and collaboration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs evaluations by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
Develops care plans by determining the nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders; establishes treatment goals and methodologies.
Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discusses progress toward goals with patients; provides instructions; monitors effect of medications; supervises staff provision of services.
Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress; consults and collaborates with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, and other health care providers.
Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, and legal/regulatory requirements; participates in utilization reviews; remains available for emergency consultations.
Improves staff competence by providing training and discussions regarding the interrelationship between psychosocial and physiological problems, psychotropic medications, crisis intervention, and related issues.
Be responsible and accountable to the Behavioral Health Team, Behavioral Health Director, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Executive Director and the Health Board, keeping them informed of pertinent matters relating to behavioral health operations, the mental health care industry, and regulatory and legislative developments.
Serves as liaison between the medical behavioral health community and Warm Valley Health Care
Assists the Behavioral Health Director in pursuit of grant and funding opportunities consistent with the mission of Warm Valley Health Care in order to expand the facility’s capacity to meet the health needs of the community
Education & Experience Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing, Current Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Current DEA
BLS/ACLS/PALS
Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted nurse practitioner license from a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States
Active DEA License
One year of experience working in a community health center setting highly desired
Ability to meet all requirements for medical staff credentialing and privileging
Work Schedule:
