Job Summary and Qualifications
Surgical Technologist OB Certified
The role of the OB Scrub Tech on the Center for Women’s Health/ NICU unit is
to provide care under the direction of the Charge Nurse, Clinical
Coordinator/Supervisor, and the Director. The OB Tech provides care in
accordance with established policies and procedures of Frankfort Regional
Medical Center and professional organizations, and in support of the mission
of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Care is provided in a family-centered
environment.
What you will do in this role:
:

  • Scrubs for surgical procedures including but not limited to: cesarean sections and tubal ligations
  • Attend and assist providers in vaginal deliveries
  • Responsible for checking, cleaning, and restocking the operating suite(s) and labor rooms including warmers
  • Set-up surgery rooms as needed. Pull, set-up, and charge for cases as needed.
  • Assist unit secretary with ordering of supplies for the obstetrical unit.
  • Perform patient care duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse these may include but are not limited to: vital signs; assisting patients with ambulation, showers, etc.; transporting patients; newborn baths; changing bed linens; and picking up food trays.
  • Greets and interacts with patients, significant others, visitors, or guests in a cheerful, courteous, positive manner at all times.
  • Assist in the admission of new patients and prepare them for patient care
  • Complete documentation in a timely, proficient, and complete manner

What qualifications you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma; completion of Scrub Tech and/or CNA program preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: BLS required upon hire.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided preferred. Experience may be obtained through basic fundamentals of a nursing course at an accredited school of nursing with a clinical rotation in a skilled or acute care setting.
