Opportunity for Medical Laboratory Manager at Northeast Kansas Hospital

We are currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Manager for our rural hospital. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for all operations in the hospital’s laboratory, assuring high-quality services are always provided to patients and medical staff ensuring they get timely and accurate results. They also supervise lab technicians and maintain the standards of the lab.

Work Schedule:

* Full Time. This position participates in the on-call coverage schedule to provide 24/7 care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Overseeing the daily operations of the lab; designing, implementing, and maintaining procedures for lab processes

* Supervising, training, and mentoring laboratory staff

* Coordinating with doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure accurate and timely test results

* Assisting in the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases

* Managing and maintaining lab equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning correctly

* Overseeing the purchasing of lab supplies and equipment

* Plans workload distribution and makes schedules

* Performs chemical, biological, and microscopic tests to provide data for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease.

* Receives specimens for lab or obtains specimens from patients for testing.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science

* MT or MLS with ASCP certification

Experience :

* Prior Laboratory Management experience preferred
