Position Description
Possess current Oregon medical license
Board Certified in Pediatrics
Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Must have knowledge of:
A variety of pharmacological agents to prescribe for patient treatment and the desired effects, side effects, and complications for their use
Comprehensive knowledge of pediatric dosages and precautions
Administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ health and medical conditions including explanation of procedures to patients and their parents, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow-up care
Computer operations in the use of basic word processing, data entry and electronic medical records and patient information systems.
DUTIES
Provide healthcare and preventive services to pediatric patients and their family members including age-specific anticipatory guidance regarding common child health concerns, growth and development, nutrition, common illnesses, safety, and discipline.
Perform routine well visits and developmental screenings.
Diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses.
Diagnose and treat common mental health conditions.
Provide childhood immunizations.
Perform school and sports physicals.
Perform procedures and prescribe pediatric treatment and medications based on assessment results and standards of care.
Perform circumcision procedures on newborns.
Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries of newborns, infants, children and adolescents through age 18 years; Identify and manage specific pediatric illnesses.
Prepare and review case histories and clinical records of newborns, infants, children and adolescents through age 18 years. Secure a health and developmental history from the patient or parent; record findings and make critical evaluation.
Examine patients, determine need for radiological examinations and clinical laboratory tests, and interpret examinations findings and test results. Also, perform or request special screenings and developmental tests and interpret the results.
Evaluate total health care needs of patients and develop a plan to meet these needs. Teach patients and families different ways to maintain or improve their health status.
Make appropriate referrals to specialty physicians as warranted.
This position has no call requirement.

Compensation:
Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience and number of hours worked per week.
