Location: Huntsville, Alabama
Department: Physician – Pediatrics

Position Description

_Job Summary:_ Handles a wide variety of normal and complex medical situations and is responsible for accurately diagnosing, treating and providing the best health care for the pediatric patient (newborn to adolescents/age 18). Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete medical information in patient’s chart.

_Minimum Requirements_ : Graduate of an accredited school of medicine and completion of a three year U.S. residency program. Current license to practice medicine in the State of Alabama. Valid Alabama Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Certificate required. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Medicine or must be Board Certified within 2 years of employment with Company. Current PALS Certification. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (AthenaHealth preferred).

_Additional Information Needed for Credentialing:_ Certificate of current and/or previous professional liability/malpractice insurance. Written explanation of any current, pending or past restriction, limitations, settlements, or any legal actions against the candidate (if applicable). Educational Commission on Foreign Medical Graduates Certificate (if practicing for less than 1 year), if applicable. Copy of current Board Certificates or letter from Board stating status (if applicable). Copy of degree from an accredited School of Medicine Graduate Program. Copy of letter of residency. National Provider Identifier (NPI) Issuance Letter with Number identified.

_Health Records Documentation Requirements_ : Proof of Hepatitis B (or Declination); Negative TB Test performed within the past 12 months or negative chest x-ray and no evidence of symptoms or completion of treatment. COVID-19 and flu vaccination required. A physical will be required if hired.
