Position Description

This position is eligible for a $15,000 retention bonus. This position is located at Deer Lodge Medical Center in Deer Lodge, MT. We are looking for a Full time Physical Therapist to join our busy Rehab Department that currently offers a wide variety of services that include general orthopedics, women’s health, wound care, vestibular, pediatrics and a concussion program. Seeking a motivated individual interested in clinical growth and pursing certifications in one of our already established specialty areas and/or interested in helping bring a new service line to our department. New grads welcome to apply, and mentorship is available. Monday-Friday flexible scheduled hours to include a combination of inpatient and outpatient (heavier workload in outpatient) care. Schedule can be four (4) ten (10) hour shifts or five (5) eight (8) hour shifts with no weekends or holidays. Continuing education budget with state and national APTA dues covered. Qualifications:

· Graduate Physical Therapy degree from accredited university

· Valid license from the Montana Physical Therapist Licensing Board as a Physical Therapist

· Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.

· Possess and maintains current CPR Certification.

· Prior experience in acute care and outpatient settings

· Prior experience utilizing EMR for documenting

Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluates patient’s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.). Evaluates home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living. Identifies equipment needs. Participates in the development of the total plan of care.

Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function. Communicates plan of care to referring physician and other organization professionals.

Maintains appropriate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports to the physician any changes in the patient’s condition. Submits these records in accordance with Organization policy.

Maintains contact/communication with other personnel involved in the patient’s care to promote coordinated, efficient care.

Attends and contributes to in-services, case conferences, and other meetings as required by Organization policy to ensure coordinated and comprehensive plans of care for the patients of the Organization.

Participates in discharge planning for patient.

Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, provisional licensees, students and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards

Visit patients’ homes to help install or use assistive devices

Identify need for and make referral to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the patient

Comply with all license requirements set forth by the state of Montana for Physical Therapists.
