Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist will administer and direct the physical agents utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a physician. Coordinates outreach programs including wellness and education.

Monahans Physical Therapy treats Swing Bed patients on the Med Surg floor, sees outpatient rehabilitation, and provides care to area high school athletics.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
 Knowledge of physical therapy equipment.
 Effective oral and written communication skills.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
**  Graduate of an accredited Bachelor Degree program in Physical Therapy.
 One year experience as a licensed Physical Therapist preferred.

LICENSURE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
 Texas Physical Therapy License must be obtained within one (1) year, or per state law.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
 Require extended periods of walking, sitting and standing. Repeated bending, stooping and
reaching is required.
 Pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds and heavier, lifting and
transferring or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
 The working environment is generally favorable. Work inside under normal temperature
conditions with adequate light, in a well-ventilated, clear area; some areas are limited in
space, usually work around others with moderate noise.
 Staff may be exposed to muscular strain in supporting, lifting and assisting patients.
 Slight risk of exposure to communicable diseases and on-the-job injuries.
