Physical Therapist

Wayne General Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team. As a Physical Therapist, you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services to patients of all ages, helping them restore function, improve mobility, and enhance their quality of life. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the specific needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients’ physical conditions, including range of motion, strength, and functional abilities, to develop appropriate treatment plans.

Design and implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other interventions to improve patients’ mobility, strength, and overall physical function.

Educate patients and their families on exercises, proper body mechanics, and strategies to prevent injury and enhance recovery.

Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.

Document patient evaluations, treatments, and progress in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care plans and outcomes.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including the proper care and use of therapy equipment.

Stay current with advances in physical therapy practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants and support staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Licensure: Must hold a current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Mississippi.

Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
