Located at the northeastern edge of the Upper Peninsula, it is separated by the St. Marys River from the much-larger city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We offer year-round recreational activities, historical sites, the world-famous Soo Locks, the swinging railroad bridge, Tahquamenon Falls, lighthouses, and more. The Sault also offers a regional airport, Chippewa County International Airport (CIU), with daily flights to and from Detroit Metro and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Practice Details

Emergency department at MyMichigan Medical Center Sault is an 18-bed department with annual volumes in the range of 16,000. The department runs on solo physician coverage with advanced practice providers support from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Shifts are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a small shift overlap to make sure appropriate hand-off is conducted. A separate walk-in clinic is located nearby and staffed by an advanced practice provider from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Excellent relationships with tertiary hospitals for transfers and strong specialist support available, including psychiatry. Trauma team available and required to be on-site within 20 minutes.

Other specialties will be considered, not exclusive to Emergency Medicine trained providers.

Community hospital emergency medicine.

12-hour shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
