The Idaho State University Department of Family Medicine (ISU DFM) in Pocatello, Idaho is growing. Therefore, another full-time, board-certified, broad-spectrum, family physician is being sought to join its creative, productive, collegial, multidisciplinary faculty. The ISU DFM is composed of: a well-established base family medicine residency; two new rural training tracks; a new psychiatry residency in collaboration with the University of Utah; a hospitalist fellowship; wilderness medicine fellowship; pharmacotherapy residency; psychology internship; advanced surgical obstetrics training track; clinical research center and outpatient practice in an FQHC. All components are oriented to preparing learners for rural and underserved practice.

Regional academic affiliations with the University of Washington and University of Utah provide a wide range of opportunities for faculty development, collaboration, and research. The Residency’s hospital site, Portneuf Medical Center, is a 187 bed facility sponsored by Ardent Health Services-a forward looking, supportive, and well-funded corporation. ISU benefits include 24 days paid vacation, CME, generous retirement matching, tuition waivers, sabbaticals, interdisciplinary teaching opportunities, and international medicine.

Pocatello is a safe, affordable, family-oriented university community of ~ 50,000 nestled in the mountains of Southeastern Idaho. One can enjoy immediate access to cross-country & downhill skiing, climbing, mountain & road biking, hiking, river sports, fly fishing, hunting, and back-country. Within a three hour drive are Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP. The community has a thriving cultural scene: music, dance, and theater at the Stephens Performing Arts Center; brewpubs; music festivals; restaurants; and outdoor concerts at the Portneuf Healthcare Foundation Amphitheater.
