Position Description

Primary Care opportunity for Physician to join a FQHC in the Raleigh-Durham, Research Triangle area. Federal and state student loan repayment or bonus incentive possible. See patients of all ages. No Call. Prospect Hill is a small unincorporated community in Hightowers Township, Caswell County, North Carolina and is less than 30 minutes from Hillsborough and Durham, NC.

This practice group understands the importance of treating the whole patient, and the value of an interdisciplinary approach to care. Once oriented to Clinic, see approximately 20 patients per day. Centricity EMR. Hours vary depending on site. Typically Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Occasional Saturday hours. 1-2 year’s experience preferred.

The providers are responsible for:

* delivering the full range of ambulatory primary care services for scheduled patients as well as walk-ins and add-ons, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness in all age groups, preventative and well child care, minor surgical procedures, and occasional medical emergencies.
* managing all patients and conditions within the scope of their training and approved privileges.
* identifying the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and making accommodations for such difference according to the patient’s age, within scope of training and approved privileges.
* thoroughly documenting the patient encounter in a legible, comprehensive and accurate manner utilizing CFMC approved formats and updates pertinent medical record forms, within 24 hours of the patient encounter.
* appropriately referring patients for subspecialty care as needed.
* rotating weekly telephone call responsibility, providing appropriate medical advice by telephone and documenting telephone encounters.
* appropriately consulting with Supervising or Backup Physicians regarding complex cases.
* expediting patient flow by seeing patients as assigned by nursing staff (including add-ons and walk-ins).
