The Bon Secours Inpatient Psychiatry and Behavioral Health team is adding a Psychiatrist to the team at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA – Part of the “757” Coastal Hampton Roads/Tidewater Region!

This is a great opportunity to join a growing program committed to serving the needs of an underserved community.

* Licensed MD/DO – Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
* Full time position – M-F 8 hour days
* _Inpatient Adult Psychiatry coverage pr_ oviding behavioral health units, consults on medical floors, review of admissions from the ED and external hospitals or providers.
* Call coverage:
* 1:5 Weekend Rounding (1 weekend every 5 weeks) 4:00 PM Fri – 8:00 AM Mon.
* 1 to 2 week nights per week 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM
* Both include cross coverage from units and admission calls
* Practice Support: 1:8 – One RN to every 8 patients and 1:6 – One Behavioral Health tech to every 6 patients
* Great Support and Resources for you and your patients – LCSW, LPC, BSW, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Recreation Therapist, RN Clinical Coordinators and Nurse Manager.
* Average 8-12 patients per day
* Patient ages – 18+ and approx. 70% adult, 30% geriatric
* Opportunity to mentor medical students
* Mentorship available by Medical Director
