Job Summary and Qualifications
#
At Henrico Doctors’, our kidney transplant center specializes in kidney
transplants, living kidney donations and paired exchange kidney transplants.
In all cases, our kidney transplant surgeons use advanced technology and
innovative techniques to provide personalized, ongoing care whenever you walk
through our doors. Our surgeons have extensive experience and are supported by
a team of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, transplant pharmacists,
transplant dietitians and social workers. Together, they are here to provide
you with comprehensive care you can count on.
- In this role, you will communicate effectively with physicians, hospital staff, director, external and internal consumers
- Coordinating and facilitating the pre and peri-operative processes upon notification of organ availability for a specific patient is required
- You must be able to assess transplant patients for specific needs as well as educate the patient and their family regarding their specific needs related to the kidney transplant, including the ongoing follow-up care requirements
- You will be responsible for planning follow-up care in collaboration with the referring physician, transplant surgeon and other care providers as well as analyzing pertinent data, communicating findings, documenting information and assuming accountability for decisions and actions
What qualifications you will need:
- Active RN license in the state of Virginia
- BSN preferred
- Three years of nursing experience with 1 year in ICU or one year case management preferred
