Position Description
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in social or health sciences strongly preferred; a general liberal arts background may also be considered and one (1) year experience in prevention services is desired, preferably in the field of alcohol and drug abuse or other behavioral health area; Master’s degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be eligible to become certified as a Prevention Specialist through the South Carolina Association of Prevention Professional Advocates (SCAPPA) within 2 years of employment.

Education & Experience Requirements:
The position will require graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in counseling or related area and extensive counseling experience, S.C. State licensure to provide counseling services preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be eligible to be certified as a Licensed Addictions Counselor in South Carolina and have some flexibility in regards to schedule worked and populations served. The salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
