This candidate is responsible for providing art, music, or recreation therapy
services to patients, as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in
accordance with Frisco Mental Health and Wellness activity therapy work
policy. Activity therapy interventions are focused on helping the patient
develop a stronger sense of self by promoting the identification and
expression of feelings through participation in the creation and sharing of
personal work, to include visual art, dance/movement, poetry, writing, drama
or music. The Adjunctive Therapist provides the core of programming by
facilitating therapeutic groups offered to the patients at Parthenon Pavilion.
The Adjunctive Therapist’s responsibilities in the following areas include:
four groups daily, completing Activity Therapy Assessments, participating in
treatment planning, 1:1s with patients and supervision of volunteers and
students.
Job Summary and Qualifications

• Complete activity therapy assessments.
• Provide group expressive therapy sessions appropriate to client needs.
• Display professionalism in dealing with customers, staff and clinicians.
• Establishes goals and objectives for group sessions
• Conducts a minimum of 4 group daily and provides documentation after each group
• Completes activity therapy assessments, group notes, care plan reviews, and patient education notes for all assigned patients
• Researches evidence based programming techniques to be shred and utilized by treatment team
• Provides behavioral health education to community agencies, facilities, and referral sources

What qualifications you will need:

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, Music Therapy or Master’s Degree in Art Therapy are required
• CTRS, ATR or BC, as specified by specific discipline professional certification guidelines or eligible to sit for Certification within 2 years.
