Position Description

Affinity Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in integrative and functional psychiatry, providing patient-centered care that addresses the root causes of mental health conditions and will be responsible for providing mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across the lifespan, focusing on individuals with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

The ideal candidate will have experience in psychiatric care, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The PMHNP will participate as a member of the patient care team, collaborating with primary care providers, behavioral health team and others involved in the patients’ care. Provides services in-person and through telehealth, in an outpatient community health center site. Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for patients across various age groups.

Diagnose psychiatric disorders and develop personalized treatment plans.

Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications, with an emphasis on evidence-based prescribing.​

Provide psychotherapy and therapeutic interventions.

Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.

Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options, including lifestyle modifications, nutritional support and alternative therapies which may complement medication management.

Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.

Participate in continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications:

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.​

Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

Active, unrestricted license to practice as a nurse practitioner in South Carolina.

Previous experience in psychiatric or mental health care preferred.

Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Passion for patient-centered, collaborative care and a commitment to addressing mental health using evidence-based standards.

Compensation:

Pay Range: $110,000 – $130,000 annually, plus incentive pay, based on education and experience.
