Position Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide clinical assessments for patients seeking mental health care including diagnostic assessments, psychiatric workups, and treatment planning including medication management
Employ a variety of strategies, approaches, and techniques to manage a client’s physical, environmental, and psycho-social health issues.
Identify and resolve barriers that hinder effective care. Ensure the patient is progressing towards desired outcomes by continuously monitoring patient care through assessments and/or evaluations. Create client care plans to help achieve wellbeing.
Follow up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases.
Understand department and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including the LCSW/LPC linkage to related areas. Participating in a team based approach, collectively working toward achieving stated objectives.
Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requiring minimal direction but receives and accepts guidance where needed.
Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and in-house clinical guidelines. Completes required documentation and paperwork including assessments, treatment planning and implementation in a timely manner no later than 72 hours from the date of the visit.
Productivity expectation is 25-30 patients per week and/or seeing 5-6 patients per clinical day.
Qualifications and skills:
3+ years as a Psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience with mental health assessment, diagnosis, triage, managing common psychiatric medication and treatment plans, and managing crisis situations
Psychiatrist, MD in GA – OR – Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
An unrestricted license and valid DEA number in the state of Georgia
No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP)
No adverse actions by any nursing board, hospital or other credentialing body in the past 3 years
The ability to provide telehealth and utilize our EMR (previous experience with Athena is a plus)
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Pre-employment drug screening and criminal history background check is required.
