Position Description
The Eugene VA is recruiting for a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Psychologist. The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Psychologist position works within the PTSD Clinical Team/Substance Abuse Treatment Program (PCT/SATP) Specialty Team. The SUD Psychologist primarily treats Veterans admitted to the SATP program, for the treatment of Substance Use Disorders. The psychologist will be able to fully assess and objectively diagnose mental health disorders, particularly SUD-related disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological screenings and/or assessments, and provide Evidence Based Psychotherapy (EBPs), specifically about the diagnoses of SUD.
The psychologist will deliver individual and group psychotherapy for SUD, which may include Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for SUD (CBTSUD), Contingency Management, as well as other Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) consistent interventions for SUD. clinical work may also at times include the use of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) if trained.
