Carteret Health Department - Beaufort
Position Description
* Excellent benefits including paid medical, dental, vision & life insurance; retirement & 401(k); paid sick, vacation & holiday leave.
* 4-day work week – Monday through Thursday. 32 hours per week.
* Mobile public health dental unit that services children ages 0 – 20, plus women on pregnancy Medicaid. Travels to elementary schools throughout county to serve the underserved.
* Minimum of two years of experience with the general practice of dentistry and experience in and desire to practice pediatric dentistry.
* One Dentist; two Dental Assistants; one Administrative Manager; one part-time Dental Navigator.
* Patient count depends on location and needs. Generally 10 to 20 patients per day. 15 – 50 depending on a strictly portable day at an elementary school, Head Start Center or daycare.
* Coastal community in the Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina. Total full-time population of around 70,000 residents.
* Experience with digital x-ray equipment. Preferred knowledge of the use of nitrous oxide.
* Malpractice insurance is paid by County.
* Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)
* Currently use Eaglesoft, but are considering a switch to either Open Dental or Dextrix.
