Job Summary and Qualifications

## POSITION SUMMARY (Imaging Services Assistant) – Under the general
supervision of the Director and Manager of Imaging Services and under the File
room/Front desk Supervisor, the File room/Front desk clerk is responsible for
performing clerical duties. They also provide service to the technologists
working in all modalities. Taking extra steps to assist anyone needing our
service, to process and maintain patient information for all procedures, and
providing the service professionally and courteously is expected of all file
room/front desk staff. Our goal is to deliver prompt service to patients and
expedient report times to our physicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
1. Facilitates communication between the Imaging Services Department and
members of the medical staff and other hospital departments.
2. Ensures quality care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and
standards.
3. Provides assistance, guidance and direction to patients and visitors.
4. Is able to handle high volume, high stress situations.
5. Assists with the provision of all clerical services in the department.
6. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting
requirements for mandatory/continuing education.
7. Upholds the highest standards of customer service at all times
(“customer” includes patients, family members, co-workers, referring
physicians, etc.).
8. Actively participates in Performance Improvement (P.I.) activities
established by the Imaging Department.
9. Possesses knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to work
accurately within the Imaging Department.
10. Serves as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff/students.

11. Completes other tasks and activities as assigned.

Must have exceptional communication and patient care skills, as well as strong
interpersonal skills and problem solving ability
