Department: Radiology Technician

Position Description

The radiologic technologist is primarily responsible for performing radiographic imaging and computed tomography studies of patients in a hospital setting. The technologist will also be responsible for performing outpatient electrocardiograms, occasionally hooking cardiac monitors to patients, and occasionally performing pulmonary function testing. Technologist will play an equal role with other radiology staff in acquiring prior authorization for radiology exams and scheduling of patients for exams, including MRI and mammography exams provided by mobile truck, ultrasound exams, and echocardiography exams.

Qualifications

One year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred but will consider newly registered technologist.

Experience or registration as computed tomography technologist preferred but willing to train technologist on the job here at DMHC.

Willingness to learn other modalities or skills such as electrocardiograms, cardiac hook ups, prior- authorization, and pulmonary function testing.

Technologist must be able to reliably work alone or with other staff and must be very reliable in providing their share of coverage while also being flexible to variations in work schedule.

Candidate must be willing to always be within 20 minutes of the hospital during their coverage duties.

Schedule

Unique schedule with very flexible days on and days off. Equal radio of days on to days off. Days on duty comprise of in-house coverage from roughly 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays with call coverage after 5pm until 8 am the following morning. Weekend days on duty comprise of 24-hour call coverage from 8 am to 8 am. Coverage of department alternates between two technologists with some weekend coverage provided by per diem technologists. Very competitive wage.
