Radiology Ultrasound Technician

Position Overview: As an Ultrasound Technician, you will operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of various parts of the body to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions and diseases. You will work closely with patients to explain procedures, ensure their comfort, and maintain accurate records of tests performed.

Responsibilities:

Perform Ultrasound Examinations:

Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.

Apply gel to the patient’s skin to aid sound waves in transmitting images.

Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images according to physician specifications.

Adjust equipment controls to optimize images and obtain the required diagnostic information.

Monitor Equipment and Maintain Records:

Ensure ultrasound equipment is functioning properly and perform routine maintenance as needed.

Record patient information and images obtained during procedures for physician review and interpretation.

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards.

Collaborate with Medical Team:

Communicate with physicians and other medical professionals to discuss patient outcomes and preliminary findings.

Assist physicians during procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.

Provide accurate documentation and maintain comprehensive patient records.

Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety:

Address patient concerns and ensure their comfort during procedures.

Follow safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure to ultrasound waves.
